Thebe Announces New Black Glamour Exhibition

Thebe Exhibitions and Projects Group has announced the launch of the African continent’s first-ever comprehensive exhibition that will showcase all beauty related products for the black market – Black Glamour.

Thebe Exhibitions and Projects Group Managing Director Carol Weaving says for the first time manufacturers of products focusing on this very diverse but integrated market, will have the opportunity to exhibit under one roof.

“The exhibition, that will take place at the Coca-Cola dome in October 2011, is aimed at the influential black diamond market – members of South Africa’s fast-growing, affluent and influential black community. Black diamonds are the current and future movers and shakers of this country and their lifestyle is intensely debated in the business and marketing media,” says Weaving.

“The exhibition will showcase all the products and services related to beauty, hair, nails, accessories, wellness and lifestyle. It will also be an opportunity for international brands to enter the African market. Although this industry is predominantly female, the exhibition will cater for men as well. With a growing male interest in the beauty and wellness industry, we cannot afford to ignore the masculine side.

“Potential exhibitors include manufacturers and service providers of cosmetics and make-up, skin, body and nail care products, perfumes, fragrances and toiletries and hair care products and accessories. It also includes spa and wellness products, health and fitness and anti-aging products and services.

“In line with modern-day living trends, service providers of lifestyle products and services like luxury cars, upmarket homes and exotic holidays will form part of the exhibitor base.“

Weaving says whilst the exhibition sets out to draw visitors from this influential target market, it is also geared at providing exhibitors that essential part of marketing – direct communications with clients.

“Part of the exhibition is a trade day during which exhibitors will have pre-scheduled one-on-one meetings via an online diary service with buyers. Apart from showcasing their products and services, exhibitors will have the opportunity to educate the industry and clients about them.”

Weaving says Black Glamour will be a catalyst for success and advancement in the African black lifestyle industry.

“Black Glamour will become the platform for the annual review of the industry and all the people involved. Presenting and managing exhibitions of choice requires doing the right things all of the time. This, Thebe Exhibitions and Projects Group is doing well, hence my belief that we are well-poised to present this new exhibition,” says Weaving.
