Visitors win big at World Holiday & Travel Fair

This year’s World Holiday & Travel Fair at the Coca Cola Dome in Northgate was jam packed with prizes from every corner of the earth. Four lucky Star Travel Club members won fabulous prizes at the WHTF from the 16th – 18th April.

Mr James Campbell of Irene won a range of Cellini Air luggage including the Ultra Light expandable trolley Pullman, ultra light four-wheel Pullman, carry-on trolley duffel as well as the ultra light small duffel including the carry-on trolley garment bag.

Mr Mahomed As of Azaadville was the lucky winner of a getaway to the Victoria Falls, including return air fares with 1time airline to Livingstone, Zambia, a two-night stay at Victoria Falls Safari Lodge including breakfast daily and two dinners, airport transfers and a sunset cruise with Wild Horizons.

Starlight Cruises presented Mr Mahomed Essopjee of Ottosdal with a four-night cruise on the MSC Sinfonia to Maputo and Barra Lodge worth
R20 000.

And Tessa Edwards was the winner of the Saturday Star and The Star grand prize worth R120 000. This incredible prize was drawn on Sunday the 18th April at the show by Carol Lazar, editor of Saturday Star Travel. Tessa is the lucky winner of a trip for two adults and two children to Kenya, flying to Mombasa with Kenya Airways, seven nights at Serena Beach Hotel & Spa including dinner, bed and breakfast and transfers to/from the airport. International Banking from Absa who were the presenting sponsor of The World Holliday & Travel Fair, gave Tessa a whopping R 20 000 in the form of a cash passport to spend as she wishes while in Kenya.

In addition to the main prize, Dr Elijah Nkosi also won a trip for two to Kenya, flying to Mombasa with Kenya Airways,three nights at Serena Beach Hotel & Spa including dinner, bed & breakfast and transfers to/from the airport in Mombasa. The value is R35, 000 plus.

Other prizes at the show included R 1000 in cash presented by Dubai Tourism to both Natalie Van Niekerk and Jenny Briscoe who entered a competition on the Dubai Tourism stand and one lucky Absa Private Banking client has won an exciting trip to Namibia for 2 people courtesy of Namibia Tourism, Wilderness Safaris and International Banking from Absa.

Holiday Autos gave a prize away of 7 days Group B / compact car rental at any of their global locations. And students were not left out of the prizes! A selection of STA travel prizes included a Contiki Trip for 2, a 3-day Kruger Lodge Package for 2, a trip for 2 on the European Wonder Tour as well as 2 tickets to Europe!
